Connect Patreon
Patreon is connected in the publishing console, on your org's Patreon page, not on a Connections page. The Connections page lists it and sends you there. It is your org's, and it is open to every org. See Connections for how connecting works in general.
What it is for
Knowing who supports your campaign. Your players link their Patreon account to their GreenMind account, and your games and servers can then ask whether a player is a supporter and which of your paid tiers they are entitled to. Players describes the answers.
How it is connected
The connection goes through GreenMind's one Patreon client. There is no app for you to make and no key to paste.
- An admin of your org opens the org's Patreon page in the console. It becomes available once one of the org's projects is approved.
- The admin signs in to Patreon as the campaign's owner, and allows access.
What it asks Patreon for
identity campaigns campaigns.members w:campaigns.webhook
These let GreenMind read the campaign, its tiers and its members, and register the webhook through which Patreon tells it of a change. You set up no webhook yourself. GreenMind never asks Patreon for a supporter's name, email address or what they pay.
If it goes wrong
- You cannot connect. Connecting is for an admin of the org, and waits until one of the org's projects is approved.
- Signed in as the wrong account. Only the campaign's owner can connect it. Sign in to Patreon as the owner and connect again.
- Supporters look out of date. Patreon's changes arrive within seconds, and every member is checked again each night. The page's Check now runs that check at once.
